Who was the Puppy Bowl’s MVP?

While millions of viewers were left in the dark during the Superbowl’s blackout, the action over at the Puppy Bowl IX was nonstop!

So who took home the coveted MVP (Most Valuable Puppy) title?

Marta, a Beagle/Schnauzer mix. “Marta’s tiny, but she’s not delicate, and she is deceptively athletic, which kind of tricked the bigger dogs,” Daniel Schachner, the Puppy Bowl’s official ref, explained to USA Today.

Congrats to Marta– and to the shelter who “recruited” her, the  AHeinz57 Pet Rescue & Transport in Iowa.

Meet the Puppy Bowl IX’s Starting Lineup!

Bessie and Biscuit.

Cash and Chestnut.

Daffodil and Daisy.

No matter how you team them up– the starting lineup for Sunday’s Puppy Bowl IX is looking pretty darn cute.  Check out their profiles, and if you haven’t fainted from the cuteness, let us know who you’re rooting for!

From Dead Dog Beach to the Puppy Bowl

We’re just days away from the biggest competition of the year– the Puppy Bowl, of course!  This year, Animal Planet’s  pooch-stravaganza will feature two very special players on the starting lineup: Biscuit and Butterscotch. Rescued from  a Puerto Rican beach that’s sadly often used to abandon and abuse dogs, these two sisters are now destined for superstardom. Who you calling an underdog?
