Dear Luke,

Luke

Happy 1st Birthday to one cute little guy! What a joy it is to see you and your 3 sisters after a long day at work, greeting me with those adorable faces! Love you to the moon and back.

Dear Otis,

Otis

Your dad and I loved you before we even met you. We were missing something in our lives – something small, furry, and four-legged. We spent months researching breeds, watching dog videos, admiring others’ pups, and checking local shelter pages. And then one day I saw you – listed on an adoption site. The family that had you also had your mom, dad, and brother, and thought that you weren’t getting the attention you needed. I fell in love with the picture posted of you  - you were smiling from ear to ear, in a way that was cartoon-like. We called about you, asked some questions, and then immediately came out to see you. It was love at first sight. You were being shy, but we could tell that you were sweet and well behaved, and you were just so beautiful! We couldn’t take you home that day, but we came to pick you up about a week later. And from then on, we developed an unbreakable bond with you. I can’t imagine a day where I don’t wake up to your smiling face, hear your silly snorts, or receive your slobbery kisses. I would be so lonely without you following me from room to room, or snuggling up with me every time I sit on the couch or bed! You are so funny, so smart, so handsome and so sweet. You are my best friend and the love of my life!

Dear Hooch,

Hooch
I just would like to tell you how much you mean to us! You are everything to us and more! Your unconditional love fills a void you will never understand. You keep us light-hearted and and happy. I can’t wait to wake you up (because you’re a bit lazy) every morning to that curly wagging tail and stinky puppy morning breath. I love the way you know what you want and how persistent you are and how your relentless barking makes sure I know too. Your goofy personality is such a treat when I’m feeling down. I love our walks every morning and how you know which direction to take when we get to the end of the driveway. I adore your loyalty and how you think you’re the boss. I can’t wait to see you grow, to teach you new tricks and show everyone how smart you are. You’re my best friend, companion and personal comedian. You’re the best. You make me forget that I can’t have a human baby but make me remember you’re my dog baby.

With all my love, your human mama,

Mindy
