Dear Woody,

Woody
It has been a wonderful 2 years since I have gotten you. The first month was tough because you were 10 months old and had no training, but I managed. You were one big dread when I got you. You have come a long way, little man. Do you remember when you used to be afraid of the car? Now you love the car and sticking your head out the window to feel the wind in your hair. Sometimes you get a lot of heads turning when we are at traffic lights, parking lots, and at the store. Everyone thinks you’re handsome. You love to sleep with mom. I remember when you were afraid of everyone, and now you love everyone’s attention. I know it was hard for you to see sissy get hit by a truck. You felt responsible and tried to pull her from the road. Little man, it wasn’t your fault. Your dad should have been paying more attention to her. I miss sissy too. I love you little man, and I’m sure you know it.

Dear Duke,

We have been together 3 of your 7 1/2 years, and for me I can’t even imagine my life without you! From the day a friend of a friend needed to find you a home before you ended up in the pound, both of our lives changed. You came to me Moquito, “Little Bugger,” but from the minute you got in my car I knew you name was supposed to be Duke. Something told me you knew you were a Saint Bernard inside, but everyone had always looked at you like a little bugger. You came to me sad, abused, and very afraid–but little-by-little you let me love you, cuddle you, care for you the way you deserved…and now you are this happy, confident, sociable boy that the world loves. In fact– you are so loved I gave you your own Facebook page: Duke’s Adventures. I saved you, but really you saved me right back. You filled a hole in my heart and for that I will be forever grateful!! Every day I look forward to our walks and all of the adventures that lie ahead! We have truly been a match made in heaven! I am deeply grateful!

Dear Sophie Sparkles,

I never thought I could love an animal so much until I found you. Growing up, all of my friends loved their pets–wanting to be close to them all the time, letting them snuggle with them and even sleep with them. I used to roll my eyes and think to myself ‘how in the world could someone love an animal so much?’ Now I have found out for myself. Since I was young, I always wanted a Maltese dog like you. That was always a dream of mine that I never thought would come true. I will never forget the day I first saw you at what I believe was a puppy mill. You were so tiny–yet so full of life. When you were shivering I just imagined what type of home I could give you. In the week between visiting you the first time and actually picking you up, I thought about you a million times. I can’t tell you how excited I am to have rescued you. Every store I went in that had a dog aisle, I felt like a first timer going through all of the dog items, not having a clue what I was about to get into. You are the most amazing comforting spirit that I’ve had in my life. Your love is unconditional, and no matter what, you will always be there for me. I thank God for blessing me with such an endearing friend and companion. Randall and I are excited for all of the many firsts with you yet to come–first Thanksgiving, first Christmas and many many more! You warm my heart with joy and excitement. Mommy loves her sweet girl to the moon and back!
