Pile of Leaves, with a Pup!

An English Setter named Parker enjoys the simple things in life. All this precious pup needs are a big pile of leaves & some sticks! (Oh, and his owner trying desperately to contain the messy pile of leaves!)

Watch for yourself and see what pure joy looks like!

Surf’s Up for these Wave-Riding Pups!

September 27th, 2013 marks the 5th Annual Surf City Surf Dog Competition in Huntington Beach, California!

Owners and their canine companions come from all over the world to compete in the 3-day event, which includes a Doggy fashion show, Dog and Owner Yoga, and of course the famous Dog Surfing Competition.

The dogs are split into four heats based on their weight and judged based on their positioning and skills as they hang 10 on the surfboard.

Last year, a Guinness world record attempt to get 20 dogs to ride the waves for 5 seconds was unsuccessful. Here’s hoping that they can achieve that feat this year!

Check out these photos of the Surf City Surf Dog Competition from previous years.

Scooter-Riding Dog Breaks World Record

So what did YOU do Friday?

Norman the Scooter-Riding Dog broke a Guinness World Record– for fastest pooch on a scooter. He rode 100 feet in just under 20 seconds. He didn’t even the whole 30 seconds he needed to complete his mission in!

Congrats to Norman (who’s a French sheep dog, if you’re curious)– and to his charity of choice, Road Trip Home, an organization that saves homeless animals from high-kill shelters.
