What were my dog’s final moments like?

Dear Sonya & Louis,

I recently had to put my dog to sleep due to old age. He was a Miniature Poodle. I felt like my dog was my real life guardian angel and soul mate. Chance was a special dog who was very loving and accepting. He went through a lot before he came to us. He had been hit by a car and abused. Once he came to me, I felt like it was meant to be. He lived with us for 10 years. I stayed with him when they put him to sleep. I knew he was in a lot of pain and the vet had told me he was going into kidney failure. He struggled when they gave him the relaxation shot, and I wondered if he was fighting to stay alive. When the vet gave him the final shot to put him to sleep, he did relax and as he was passing, he wagged his tail and that was it. So my question is what were his final moments like? And who was he wagging his tail at–was he saying goodbye or seeing other dogs that he knew that passed previously? And does Chance have anything that he would want us to know or any messages that he would want to say? We miss him very much.

Anne Marie

Dear Anne Marie,

This is Louis here. You are absolutely right, Chance is your soul mate. And as he rubs his nose up against, mine, oh I love that…He is telling me that after he was rescued and came into your home, it was the happiest day of his life. And he has settled in so well because he felt like he knew you, and of course he did. Chance wants you to know that your souls have been in many past lives together. So this is not the only life that you have been in together and that is why you had such a connection with him, and he had such a strong connection with you.

Chance was glad to be released from his physical body and wants to thank you for helping him to get out of it. Also, just so you know, animals tolerate discomfort much more than humans can. He wants you all to know that he loves you very much and he knows how much you love him. There wasn’t a day of his life that he spent with you that he wasn’t happy. And Chance loved it when you kissed him on his head. One thing he didn’t like was having his nails clipped, and to be honest, neither did I when I was in my physical body. Chance and I both agree that it is nice that we don’t have to have our nails clipped in heaven. Chance is wagging his tail so much right now because all of his friends and the souls he had known in past lives and in this life too were waiting for him and welcoming him back to his spiritual home in heaven.

Lots of love to you,

Did drugs cause my dog’s death?

Dear Sonya & Louis

My 12-year-old Labradoodle, Maxine, had a rough year this year. In February she  had some focal seizures that we were able to get under control with medication. She was seizure-free for almost 7 months. In mid-September she started having seizures again. We added a new medicine, upped the dose, and gave her valium to stop the seizures when she had them but she continued to have seizure activity daily. She also developed pneumonia. Over the course of 10 days she went from a pretty active “senior” dog to a very sedate and weak dog. It broke my heart to see her decline so quickly. We put her to rest on September 27 and I miss her more than words can say. I constantly wonder if the drugs made her decline and if we should have pushed harder to get them changed, or if it was truly her time to go. I also regret not spending more time with her at the end…I wish I would have held her for a while after she was put to rest. I need to know how she is doing and if she has any message for me now. Please help!

Thank you,

Dear Susan,

Sonya Says, “Many people think that yearly vaccinations are good for their dogs, and by law most dogs are required to get the rabies shot. But, not all yearly vaccinations are mandatory. I am not a vet and this is only my opinion, but I agree with a wonderful vet named Dr. Marty Goldstein. He taught me about the dangers of over vaccinating. Over vaccinating animals can sometimes lead to seizures, cancer, tumors and many other symptoms. Many people think they are doing the best for their animals by vaccinating their vets, but I believe it can sometimes do harm. I can encourage all pet parents to do their own research on this matter.”

Louis says, “Maxine and I are sitting in this beautiful green meadow. Maxine was nodding her head agreeing with what Sonya just said. I have to tell you that I am looking into her eyes, and she has the most beautiful eyes. Maxine wants you to know that it was her time to come back home to the spiritual realm. Maxine doesn’t want you to blame yourself or worry any more about not spending more time with her before she passed over. Maxine feels your love, even now, still holding very tight. You have great love for each other … and love is very powerful. In fact, I can feel the love going between the two of you…because love transcends all boundaries. Maxine tells me that she took up a lot of room on the bed. She says there was nothing her family and you wouldn’t have done for her. She was happy during every moment of the life she spent with you. In fact, Maxine is still happy because she is always with you and around you. She says she is always in the car with you and would like you to still talk to her when she is in the car, just like she was in the physical body.”

Much Love,

Sonya and Louis

Is my dog going to come back to me? Does she have a different plan?

Dear Sonya & Louis,

The toughest and worst moment of my life was October 15, 2012. I had to make the decision to let my sweet Gypsy leave her sick ailing body. She was very sick and 2 different Vets weren’t sure exactly what was wrong with her. She had no quality of life, couldn’t walk, and had to be hand fed. Not my sweet, proud, regal girl.

A couple of months after her death, I spoke on the phone to an Animal Communicator.  She told me that my sweet Gypsy was going to come back to me before Summer time.  She gave me distinct colors and markings and that I would read about her. I looked and still look for her everywhere. None of this has happened.  Would you please check with Gypsy and see if she has a different plan? My life has not been the same since my sweet girl left. Anything else she has to say to me would be greatly appreciated.

My Dear Jeanine,

This is Louis talking to you from heaven. I have Gypsy sitting here with me right now. She does play nicely and has very good manners too. Gypsy is telling me that she wants her mommy to know that she sleeps in your bed every night and goes in your car with you every day. And in fact she says she was in the car with you today. When you feel and sense Gypsy around you, trust it, cause she is right there with you. She tells me that she is going to reincarnate back to you. And she wants me to tell you exactly how it works. You can also read more about in Sonya’s book, There Are No Sad Dogs in Heaven: Finding Comfort After the Loss of a Pet. Gypsy is wondering why it is taking you so long to pick out a dog to adopt. She says whatever dog you feel a connection with, trust it, and take that dog home. And after you are sure that you are keeping the dog, then Gypsy will gradually go in and out of it over a period of weeks. You don’t have to go looking too hard for the perfect dog, it doesn’t matter what the dog looks like. If you have a connection with a dog and a good feeling about it, that will be the dog for you.  And of course as we are both discussing this here, she can’t wait for you to get another dog so that she can start to move into it. It takes us a while to transition into the new physical body again. We gradually go in and out and then we settle in. And then the soul that was originally there, will go back to heaven, and Gypsy’s soul will move in. But please don’t worry about the soul that goes back to heaven, this has all been planned and arranged in the Spiritual realm and that soul will be excited to leave the physical body and be back with his or her friends in their light body. And of course Gypsy’s soul will be happy to be back with you in a new physical body. She wants you to rush out and get one as soon as you can. This will bring much happiness to your life…and Gypsy’s too!

Lots of love,

Louis (As Read Through Sonya)
