Reunited with Dog She Thought Was Dead

A remarkable story out of Denver… What would you do if you were reunited with a pet you’ve missed for an entire decade?

A Denver woman has been reunited with her lost dog after he was missing for a decade. Nicole Banks says her former husband told her their dog Juno was hit and killed by a car.

“This was my dog, I was a mess, it was maybe a month before Christmas,” Banks said.

Banks never dreamed she would see Juno again, but thanks to modern technology and a microchip, the unthinkable happened. Somebody brought Juno to the Buddy Center in Castle Rock.

“I saw that he was micro chipped, and I saw that he was registered to somebody who was totally different than who had the dog,” said Buddy Center technician Andrew Acree.

The Buddy Center found Banks’ name, and gave her a call.

“I almost dropped the phone, because I wasn’t sure if I was awake. I just couldn’t believe it,” Banks said.

It has been 10 years, but Juno is now back home with his owner.
