Zachary Quinto’s American Shelter Story

We’re used to Zachary Quinto scaring the spots off us in American Horror Story, but in his new short film, Dog Eat Dog, the actor/producer is showing off a whole new side: dog lover! The thirteen-minute film began as a Kickstarter campaign and is a semi-autobiographical “tail” about how he adopted his real-life dog, Noah, from an L.A. animal shelter.

So why’d he do it? Says Quinto:

Our goal was to make an entertaining short film inspired by my outlandishly humorous — but true — experience of trying to adopt a dog for the first time. But we also want to raise awareness about pet rescues and inspire people to rescue their new pet instead of buying one. There are so many beautiful dogs that need homes … the heart of this story is how much joy — and humor — can exist in trying to find the right match.

We give it two tails up!
