Dear Sienna,

I have no idea what I would have done without you as I go through this very rough transition period with no job and no permanent place to live. The stress is overwhelming at times. My life in some ways would be easier without a dog. It’s so hard to find a suitable place to live with a dog. But I wouldn’t give you up for a million dollars. No one can cheer me up like you do. I just look at your adorable face and constantly wagging tail and there is no way I can stay sad. I spend a small fortune on your special food, take you for walks in the freezing Seattle rain and give you back massages in the morning to show you how much I love you. And I give you kisses…probably way too many. I must annoy the heck out of you. But you seem happy just be with me as I am to be with you. You are the best companion/friend I could have asked for and I love you so much. I am so grateful to have you in my life.

Breed: Mini Dachshund

    Hi Debbie,

Thank you for sharing your story. I am also going through a really tough time – my mom recently passed, my dad has been ill and I had to put down their doxie Georgia – and the only thing that makes me smile is my mini doxie Ellie. I don’t know what I would do without her. I understand how everything just feels overwhelming. I have been trying to write a letter to my Ellie but everyone will think I’m crazy as I love her so much!

What you are going through is a rough transition and it soon will pass. Take good care of yourself and lil Sienna.

    Vivian and Ellie
