You have restored the love and beauty to my soul and are truly my goddess of love. That is why I named you after the Slavic goddess of love and beauty.
When I lost my dog, Sadie, my heart was empty. I saw your picture on Petfinder and knew you would fill that void. It was well worth the long drive to pick you up from the shelter that you had lived in for the first 6 months of your life. You have done more for me than to just ‘fill a void’. Your unconditional love make my days filled with love and happiness. The way you meet me at the door every day after work with your favorite toy and circle around me with joy that I am home makes a bad day perfect. The way you stay by my side when I am sick or unhappy – ready to kiss my face or to just lay your head on my lap – makes it all so much better. The way you are so happy to see me get up in the morning with your “good morning, mommy!” excitement starts the day off with a smile. That look on your face when we are eating that says “just one bite, please, it will make me so happy!” – that is so hard to resist. (and no you still can’t have chocolate)
Some may say you are a rescue. I say I am the one who was rescued. My life has been filled with life, love and laughter since you came into it.
That past 3.5 years have been wonderful. I hope you and I have a very long time together. I promise to do everything in my power to take care of you and to make sure you have everything you need to stay happy and healthy. You are my love – my beauty.
Love you always,
