The World’s Smallest Dog, Meysi

World's Smallest Dog

This is 3 1/2 month old Meysi, she’s the world’s smallest dog. Meysi weighs a remarkable 3.25 ounces, that’s 1/5 of a pound! When Meysi was born it was unclear on whether or not she would survive being that she only weighed a little over an ounce! This precious tea-teacup Yorkshire Terrier took the world by storm a couple of weeks ago when she came out in her first video.

As you can tell by the polish being spoken in the background, Meysi comes from Jarocin, Poland. Keeping Meysi alive was quite a task for her owner, Anna Pohl, as she had to feed her hourly. Veterinarians don’t predict any more growth for Meysi and that will grant her the title of Guinness Book of World Records’ current record for World’s Smallest Dog…but she must be a year old to officially take the reigns.

Meysi has about 8 months to go until she’s crowned the world’s smallest dog, but for the moment we’re able to watch her personality unfold. Enjoy her second video, recently released for all of us to coo over. Happy Friday!
