Dear Trevor,

As you approach your 12th birthday, I’d like to thank you for being you. From the day I picked you up as a tiny puppy to today. You’ve filled my life with love and joy every single day and I simply cannot or would not want to imagine life without you.

Do you remember the time you chased the ducks in the park when you were just a few months old? You didn’t realise that you couldn’t walk on water…. That was the day you learnt to swim!!! I laughed so much and so did everyone around, you unphased clambered out tail wagging and ran and jumped up soaking me with smelly pond water. The time you came to a party with me, which was so crowded I tied a helium balloon to your collar with an arrow pointing downward and the word “Trevor”. So many funny funny happy times, too many to recall but everyone a precious memory forever.

You’ve had your scares too!! Oh yes, pancreatitis, we almost lost you, then a year later you were diagnosed as diabetic and got catharacts on both eyes, we had them removed so you could see again and I remember crying with joy when with stitches still in your eyes and your collar on you barked at a cat across the road and I knew you had your sight back. Then there was the awful day that you were at the vets with a ruptured bowel and the vet called us to come and say goodbye to you. By the time we got there the vet declared you a miracle! You’d had a complete turnaround and had taken a huge turn for the better and recovered. My heart had gone from broken to the happiest I’ve ever been within minutes!

Next March you’ll walk me down the aisle to your Daddy with our rings around your collar, and I can’t wait. Lots of people think we’re silly, but how could I possibly not share the best day of my life with you, I want you in the photos and in my heart forever.

I love you Trev, xxx
