National Walk Your Dog Week Oct 1st-7th

Now we know that not one of you pet owners out there have a lazy bone in your body, but just in case you’ve been skipping a couple of walks during the week because of work or just a busy schedule, National Walk Your Dog Week is here to remind you just how important walking your four legged companion is.

Founded by Celebrity Pet Lifestyle Expert and Animal Rescuer Colleen Paige to bring awareness to the ever increasing problem of canine behavior issues and canine obesity in America, National Walk Your Dog Week is from October 1st-7th. Sponsored by Animal Miracle Network, it aims to improve the health and well being of America’s dogs and sends the message to unchain your dogs!

According to the American Veterinary Medical Association, more than 40 percent of dogs, a total of about 17 million in the United States, are overweight. Just think, if  you walk your dog for just 30 minutes a day, you’ll meet the national recommendations for heart health for your precious pooch. Plus walking your dog on a daily basis not only increases the endorphins in you but  also the brain of your canine companions and it improves the bond between you both.
